He can be sued for defamation or w/e. All I'm saying is that ordering him to pay a billion in damages clearly falls under the "excessive fines imposed" category. It's a ridiculous amount of money.

They could have just as easily bankrupted him and made it reasonable by putting it at like 5-10 mil, but they didn't do that because :soyjaktantrum:

Every single day you could learn of new corporate malfeasance that actively harmed and killed people, and how they 'legally' escaped anything except fines that represent a fraction of their income. You would never run out of examples of this, it's so commonplace.

I won't defend Alex Jones, but I do think his punishment for words being more than some punishments for actions that led to things like cancer for people, is an arguable point.
