You would have to want to address and work on your issues, but I suppose you don't want to because you think it won't be in your benefit.

  • black and white thinking

  • avoidance, especially of socialization

  • nihilism and misanthropy less as a philosophical exercise and more as a practice in limiting yourself

If your therapist didn't try to work on any of this (in addition to whatever problems the internet layman can't spot) they gave up on you and are punching the clock for a paycheck. Sadly common practice for the majority of therapists, although they'd give the excuse the client didn't want to be challenged.
