In 2016 after Alice Glass's departure from the band, Ethan Kath really did replace her with a 'prettier girl whos a better singer' for Crystal Castle's final album 'Amnesty' before they would be oblitterated via media suicide (Ethan Kath allegedly abused multiple teenagers while in his twenties).
'Char' is the third track on this album.
The song is likely a jab at Alice Glass (Kath wrote the lyrics) telling his side of the story, describing Alice as essentially a crybaby r-slur who made everything up and was high maintenence.
Despite Kath being accused of doing something so chuddy, and acting like a chud, he is a huge liberal and the entire album was dedicated towards trans people and stuff. 'Amnesty [international]' was the intended album name reference.
The song itself is stellar and is best played at high volumes on winter nights with your windows rolled down.
