Jokes aside to me it is like that because I haven't heard jpop (or whatever genre this is) outside of anime. I am aware that it is a separate genre, probably with many respected and popular artists, but since I am not into that, to me it sounds exactly like some generic anime opening that I haven't seen. Call me biased, but that's how it is, I just haven't ever heard any Japanese music outside of that context. And I don't even mean that as an insult or a joke, cause some of those soundtracks are quite catchy
