The 6-song run from Me and The Bean to 1020 AM hits me everytime.

Although I think some of the individual songs on the previous record are top for me personally. The breakdown in Reservations after the one-minute mark is probably one of the best things they've done, IMO.

Metal Detektor and Advance Cassette also quite good.

oh you will NEVER get me to tell you that SERIES OF SNEAKS is a bad album. it w3as an AWESOME album made under a series of ...sneaks. i love that album and love METAL DETEKTOR more than you know (or maybe you do; i think it influenced a lot of bands)

1020AM when will i ever see you again?

for me though? the most haunting song of GIRLS CAN TELL is "Chicago At Night" and it's because it's so dark and mysterious but really just makes me think there's something i missed in all that came before because IT'S JUST A CONTINUATION OF THAT STYLE.

EDIT -- i'm drunk, sorry, but chicago at night bugs me because whne you listen it's the culmination of the style of that album AND the lyrics suggest YOU MISSED SOMETHING. like you should have paid more attention. like an easter egg, and probably there is none, but it's a song that makes me want to just go right back and play it back again from the start.

THAT IS A GREAT ALBUM.

Thing about Chicago at Night is that it also leads pretty well into the first song if you've got the album on repeat. You could start the album in the middle and potentially not notice, as the opening guitar line for Everything Hits At Once is pretty close to an inversion of the closing guitar phrases in Chicago at Night. Same tone, too. Essentially bookends the album as I see it.

the best albums that tell a story WITHOUT directly telling a story (true artistry; songs speak for themselves) just SEEM like you missed something. no, you dind't. yuou just wanna listen again on repeat BECAUSE IT'S SO FRICKING GOOD.

you forgot UTILITARIAN

I WALK FORTY SIX BLOCKS YOU BEEN PUTTING IT OFF // meat in my arms steel in my teeth; the whole album is incredible. i consider this SPOON's version of RADIOHEAD's "THE BENDS" because they both went in a crazy direction after. spoon just didn't LEAP like radiohead did; they just took deliberate and half steps that were equally rewarding in my mind and showed incredible growthj

Nah, you right. It's probably the album of theirs I listen to most. They definitely have one of the more consistent catalogues, either way. Their newest got a lot of play from me last year.

also, JUNE'S FOREIGN SPELL is the best fricking song on that album EVEN COUNTING metal.

I CAN SEE HIM, TELL PRODUCER, FIX HIS LINES, AND THAT MAKES ME FEEL LIKE A RAT

i have never seen this one and i love it SO MUCH

i feel so bad for her and that last animated sad look. i don't know who does the majority of these, but they MUST work in advertising because they're brilliant.

You've got good passion and have some sense of what the big issues are. Unfortunately you're combining that with absolute shit for brains.
