One of my favorite artists of all time, legitimately. Yes, this is the guy that did "Somebody I used to know". Yes I'm still mad about it. The normies scared away an amazing artist

I love that song. How did he get scared away?

Made a bunch of soulful music, got somewhat popular in Aus :marseyaustralian: for Heart's a Mess:

Then made Somebody I used to know, a single on his most recent album Making Mirrors (2011), that blew the frick up [2.1 BILLION fricking views]:

In an absolutely (r-slurred) "suffering artist" ( :marseycut: ) move, he actually intentionally disabled youtube revenue on that video after it blew up and made basically nothing from it. He then went and hid away for years, and now releases the occasional song with a band called The Basics. I don't think he has any plan to return to the Gotye name.

I love this sad r-slurred man

he's the definition of an artist unironically

When it came out i was dating a chick that basically only listened to top 40 shit and it was playing on the radio constantly. He had to have gotten some decent money from that. I gotta respect that level of commitment to being r-slurred, tho

I like Gotye. He is (was) quite unique in the music world...shame that most only recognize him for that one (still good!) song...

People always talk about how poorly written and unrealistic female characters are but even in real life women are poorly written
