Does anyone know what djent is?

If so, is it worth listening to?

I use djent and industrial shit as my weightlifting music :marseyjamming:

The DooM 2016 OST is a pretty good mix of both

Isn't it just "metal"?

Always thought of industrial as more electronic sounding. No idea what djent is.

Weird. Never heard of any of them. I'm coming from Pantera, Down, EyeHateGod, Crowbar, and stuff like that. Any recommendations?

So industrial metal takes the electronic components you were referring to and implements them into their riffs and tone of the music. The pioneers of this genre would be people like NIИ, Fear Factory, Skinny Puppy, and Ministry. Amps me up to get my blood going for weights.

I’m not the biggest fan of djent metal (it usually swerves too closely to math metal and prog metal :marseyno:), so I can’t think of any other good ones besides Meshuggah (the rest are usually too prog/metal core for my tastes). I’m actually just a simple r-slur that likes my death and thrash metal. Bands like Septic Flesh, Skeletonwitch, Goatwhore, Gwar, etc. are my everyday listening favs
