Long and complicated story but the gist of it is that a top earner, chuu, wanted to renegotiate her slave contract for a better revenue share but BBC dropped her instead and claimed she was abusive. The entire kpop industry (presenters, producers, stylists, camera people etc) called bullshit and defended her, the other 11 girls sued to leave and a boycott was launched to punish the company for dropping and lying about their most loved idol. A year of litigation later, BBC is now an empty shell
