Oliver Anthony Lyrics
"I Want To Go Home"
Well, if it won't for my old dogs and the good Lord
They'd have me strung up in the psych ward
'Cause every day livin' in this new world
Is one too many days to me
Son, we're on the brink of the next world war
And I don't think nobody's prayin' no more
And I ain't sayin I know it for sure
I'm just down on my knees
Beggin', Lord, take me home
I wanna go home
I don't know which road to go
It's been so long
I just know I didn't used to wake up feelin' this way
Cussin' myself every darn day
There's always some kind of bill to pay
People just doin' what the rich men say
I wanna go home
Now four generations farmin' the ground
Grandson sells it to a man out of town
And two weeks later the trees go down
Only got concrete growin' around
And I wanna go home
I wanna go home
I don't know which road to go
It's been so long
I just know I didn't used to wake up feelin' this way
Cussin' myself every darn day
People have really gone and lost their way
They all just do what the TV say
I wanna go home
If it won't for my old dogs and the good Lord
They'd have me strung up in the psych ward

this is a much stronger song, in the tradition of leftist folk singers like Woody Guthrie. The spectacular effect of the more polarizing but less vulnerable&meaningful song having an instant widespread success.
I think his misplay here is coming out with a second song so quickly. Talent like that should go into an album.
rightoids are secret tree huggers everyone knows this, it's just getting them to come out and say it is the hard part

it is literally r-slurred that conservatives don't care about the environment. like what the frick are you conserving lmao. our political dichotomy doesn't make any sense if you think about it, "progress"-ives seem to care about preserving our natural state, and "conserve"-itives are big business lovers, which have not existed at any point in human history like they do now. why can't there be a true party of protecting the individual experience contrasted with a desire to move into the future, so we can make rational compromises???
