Favorite classical piano albums to listen to? [Need lots of suggestions]

In no particular order these are mine. In this list I have mentioned my favorite artists. If you have other fantastic albums by other great pianists (Gilels and others), drop their names and albums and I'll listen to them.

Timeline of composers should be Baroque to Late 19th Century. I don't want to hear Shostakovich or Stravinsky, Schoenberg, Prokofiev etc. I'm not a music nerd so their genius will probably be lost on me.

You've probably heard most of these but these are the others on my playlist.

Pollini and Ashkenazy are my two favorites among Chopin interpreters :marseyembrace:

I don't know any of his albums but I saw Denis Kozhukhin last year and highly recommend him

Maurizio pollini's Chopin nocturnes are some of the best I've heard. His rendition of Op. 72 makes that cute twink Rubinstein sound like he learned what a piano was last week. For Chopin's concertos I think zimmerman's recording is best.

Lisitsa's recording of Rach 2 is incredible

André Laplante has great recordings for Ravel

Romance by liszt is a lesser known piece of his, so there's very few options, just go with whatever is available honestly.

Any other Rach works have to be Horowitz, probably the closest thing we have Rach himself that isn't some 1920s recording

Anything by lang lang and that other slut sucks, they treat the piano as a circus act and not an expression of God's greatest works.

Unrelated, but have you listened to any of Debussy's recordings of his pieces? Most people hate them, but they've got a fun mix to them you rarely hear.

I thought I was being a square for liking the lisitsa rach since she is apparently a social media darling, but her style fits it perfectly. I don't really like her for anything else.

I honestly despise everything else she plays, always too overdone and robotic, but she brings out the piano beautifully.

For me, it's Albéniz - Iberia. I don't have enough taste to recommend a pianist but here's a youtube video

Liszt, complete Hungarian Rhapsodies played by Cziffra. Exquisite and out of this world.

Check out the works of Max Richter (specifically his recomposition of Vivaldi's Four Seasons) and Ludovico Einaudi. They're contemporary neo-classical, but are harmonically pure and consonant rather than the groomercordancy-is-good-because-smrt reasons.

Not piano (although I'm sure there's piano versions) BUT, I've been listening to Vivaldi lately.

Listen to this, it's fantastic.

At about 9:00 minutes in she goes ham. Gives me goosebumps.
