rapidshare was good for a while, but it all went under.

i still have no clue how sites like that made any profit. colo'd or something, maybe people who already owned the infrastructure, but you couldn't start a company like that anymore. not without that rapidgator shit like (download this content ONLY if you're a premium user). it didn't used to be like that. it was fast option/slow option.
