Butt rock isn't THAT bad. The token fan is your average trailer trash loser, but every genre has an undesirable as its number one fan. Wearing denim sitting outside on your porch enjoying a cold domestic beer is certainly a vibe, and butt rock fits where country now fails. It got a lot of unpopularity when people decided to listen to losers who got beat up by people blasting Nickelback out of their 2003 chevy corolla. Creed, Theory of a Deadman, Seether, Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, even perhaps Chevelle all fit the bill and they have some great songs. If Nirvana had come out a few years later they would have been butt rock. Also a guy who listened to Nomy helped me fix my car once so they're cool with me.

I've never heard of anyone referring to post-grunge rock as butt rock, but I can get behind it
