No jazz?

I'd broadly characterize jazz as "pleasant sounding", but it all sort of blends together for me. Jazz songs do not evoke an emotional response (joy, sadness, sentimentality, hope, etc) like those I listed.

I would say that certain songs which infuse jazz elements do meet my criteria, and I'll look to add those soon. I'll make a comment regarding this connection when I do.

I think that perhaps jazz reminds me a bit of someone who speaks with limited changes in inflection and intonation. This person may be intending to convey emotions, however there isn't the speech pattern variability needed to give specifics and context to those emotions.

But I'm interested in expanding my horizons here, if you have any recommendations.
