Chopin is one of my favorite composers, as he is for many others. I highly recommend playing these preludes. It’s an experience unlike any other.

Each prelude represents an emotion. Stories tell us people would gather under Chopin’s hotel, drawn to the music. Depending on the prelude, they would say angels arrived from the heavens, or the Devil walked among them.

A piano transcription of Bach’s Chaconne. A particularly brilliant section starts at 9:00.

Brahms wrote of the Chaconne, “The Chaconne is one of the most wonderful, incomprehensible pieces of music. On a single staff, for a small instrument, the man writes a whole world of the deepest thoughts and the most powerful feelings. If I were to imagine how I might have made, conceived the piece, I know for certain that the overwhelming excitement and awe would have driven me mad”

A masterwork considered to be among the most significant pieces of the early romantic period, Schumann considered the composition his most passionate piece. Schumann dedicated the work to Franz Liszt, one of the only pianists at the time capable of meeting its technical demands.

The first and most famous movement calls out to Schumann’s beloved Clara Wieck. Forbidden from contacting each other by her father, Schumann voices his anguish through the music. Certain phrases are said to be ciphers calling out her name, “Clara, Clara”!

An achingly gorgeous set of etudes with lyricism that makes the technical difficulty fade into the background.

Ravel - Gaspard de la Nuit

A piano suite known for being amongst the most challenging pieces ever written for piano, Ravel based this composition on poems of the same name by Aloysius Bertrand. Ondine depicts a water nymph seducing her observer. Le Gibet depicts a man hanging in the gallows at sunset with church bells ringing in the background. Scarbo represents a demon being mischievous in his nighttime adventures.

Back when I was in commie art school one of our collaborative semester projects was producing a concert and we booked Deerhunter to open for Crystal Castles. This was back in like 2009/10ish.

I’d seen Crystal Castles perform a few times before this. Once at a house show in Detroit where the house caught fire due to ancient wiring and the entire interior being wrapped in aluminum foil, and another when they opened for another band at Metro where Alice spent the entire show on the floor in front of the stage drunkenly rubbing a strobe light on her vag.

But by now they’d “made it” and it was guaranteed to be a very professional show (our grades depended on it).

It wasn’t.

Deerhunter went on, on time, and did an amazing, extended set - aside from being interrupted multiple times by some blue hair student trying to prevent the student crowd outside (only about a third of those who wanted to attend got in) from banging on the historic plate glass windows - all while Deerhunter’s leader, Bradford Cox encouraged the destruction.

Crystal Castles showed up hours late, wasted, and played an awful truncated set due to time constraints.

I am shutting down Topsters 2 soon. Because I stole it from its rightful owners in Germany. I have to find them somehow. It is time for them or someone else in Germany to make Topsters 3.0. Hegel, the German philosopher, is haunting me. I'm sorry! Now I see that Hegel was not the best philosopher. (He had an illegitimate son who he sent to die in war.) Franz von Baader was better. The Lutheran Doctrine of Two Kingdoms is wrong. (Though, to Hegel's credit, he did call it the "massive error of modern times." He was right about that. For real.)

I am going to try to return the Multnomah lands to their rightful owners, wherever they are. I fear that the legacy of Lutheranism is tainted by neurosis. Someone stole something from Martin Luther. He was neurotic. We have to reconcile the Lutheran and Catholic churches.

Also, CO-VID is Seeing-Together. COVID-19 is Television.

And 5G is incurring the wrath of the Power Behind the Bees. The Queen Bee is angry! Turn off the TV!!! Stop using 5G!!!

If you think you have autism, perhaps someone has stolen a part of your soul. You need to find that person, and try to make an exchange with them for it, so that everything is in its right place.

Everything spiritual is also physiological. The lowest is connected to the highest. The drinking fountains in my high school (Grant High School in Portland, Oregon) were filled with lead for a decade. And the superintendent, "Carole Smith" (if that is her real name) knew about it for decades and let everyone drink poison water. So all the kids in Portland, Oregon have lead poisoning now. That's why Portland is so crazy. But it's a good city. We just have to give the Land Back to the native people.

Autism can also be caused by waiting too long to have kids; taking Tylenol while pregnant; or by using synthetic oxytocin, a.k.a. Pitocin (which is made by Par Phamaceuticals) to cheat the fertility goddesses. Especially Anu and Kokopelli.

Finally, Amerigo Vespucci and his legacy has to give the Land Back to the Native peoples. Especially the Multnomah Tribe, the Clackamas Tribe, the Sioux Tribe, the Apache Tribe, the Cherokee Tribe, the Cheyenne Tribe, the Watlala Tribe, the Molalla Tribe, the Assiniboine Tribe, the Yanktonai Tribe, the Itazipco tribe.

Take care. The gods are real. Please don't steal. Yours truly and with much love.
