The Southern Poverty Law Centre and Anti-Defamation League both note the use of Pepe among their documentation of widely used hate symbols, and the creator of the Pepe character has publicly killed Pepe off and distanced himself from its use in response to its adoption by the MAGA set.
SPLC lmao
For my part, I operate my stream and groomercord as a Pepe free zone, not because I think people using it are doing so in a malicious way, but because I am aware that some people find it's use unsettling or uncomfortable, particularly people who are sensitive to issues of anti-semitism or racism, and my goal is to create a broadly welcoming and inclusive community.
So ultimately, it's hard to seperate the two, I wouldn't worry too much about Pepe by itself, but if you see it in conjunction with a few other little red flags they can merge into a big red flag.
Then unpopular opinion
And some people really like Charlie Chaplin, but that mustache is dead and gone, and, alas, so is Pepe.
Literally Hitler
Ugly meme -> always saying something ugly. It's no coincidence. How can anyone represent themselves with a cretin frog face - do you have no shame?
An extremely Pepephobic comment

The most incredible part of the unshakable image these people have of "Pepe as a Nazi symbol" is that it originated from Hillary Clinton's campaign. And everyone seems to have just... forgotten.
A brief primer, for those that weren't following along at the time:
Donald Trump's campaign in 2015/2016 was big on "meme magic". Trump's supporters made all sorts of ridiculous videos, phrases, images, etc. that he and his campaign fully embraced. Since Pepe was popular with everyone at the time, he featured in some of those memes.
The Clinton campaign was... not as good with memes, to put it mildly. Pretty much everything they tried just got turned into a better meme by Trump's supporters. And since making their own wasn't working, they figured the next best thing was cutting the legs out from under Trump's.
The Daily Beast ran the first article calling Pepe an alt-right symbol on May 26, 2016. Chelsea Clinton was, and still is, on the board of IAC, The Daily Beast's parent company. A short time after that article ran, Hillary Clinton's campaign, and the various organizations that supported her, went all-in on pushing the idea that Pepe was a symbol of white supremacists. It got to the point that Clinton's official campaign website uploaded an "explainer" denouncing Pepe.
After that, it was done. As far as every left-wing and liberal politician and media outlet in the country was concerned, Pepe was, is, and will always be a symbol of the greatest villain the world has ever known... Donald John Trump Sr.
So pour one out for our boy. Cut down in the prime of his life by forces beyond his control. And when we think of him, let us think of him fondly. Not as he is, but as he was.
