It's messed up, but he's right. If opposing soldiers are hiding between regular citizens and you mean to go on the offensive, most you can do is warn them to leave. If they don't, it's either on them or those who keep them hostage. The only alternative is to defend forever, likely never able to get rid of the threat. Those are your two choices.
If you are lurking in civilian areas, you probably don't have a shot at a fair fight. Every dead civilian is another reason to fight, is another awful headline for the enemy. It's a morbid strategy, but it's one that works with inferior numbers and equipment.
It's also good to value the lives of your soldiers over the enemy in a strategic sense, but it's another issue morally if you pit those against civilians. Which is why above tactic is very popular with terrorists

Russia got hit with that same flak when Azov was running patrols out of elementary schools during the siege of Mariupol. Schools in which classes had even been canceled due to there being all kinds of armed Slavshits in the streets, of course. The narrative is more important than the truth. Always has been, always will be.
Good point. And in this particular case no other Arab nation is willing to take in Palestinian refugees and for the Jews it would mean to give up more than a century of investment. One side couldn't leave even if they wanted and the other absolutely does not want to... On the other hand, maybe Europe's still interested in "skilled workers"
