TEXAS FIX

Great post. I can imagine this word for word in the comments of some Facebook post made by a middle aged man who gets blackout drunk on Pabst Blue Ribbon and has a pfp sitting in his truck staring at the camera with sunglasses on. He knows his kids won't take care of him when he gets old and can no longer work at the construction job he has because he's been nothing but abusive and demeaning to them since they entered this world but it's the only way he knows how to raise children, and when those thoughts of facing future abandonment and loneliness creep up in his mind he reaches for another beer. Sometimes when he's driving home at night having stopped by the local Circle K for another case of beer he thinks about putting the pedal to the floor and closing his eyes and wrapping his truck around a tree so he can be carted off to the next life, but he was raised by a God fearing mother who made him attend that Pentecostal church every Sunday, and deep down what he is most afraid of are those images of Heck seared into his head at a young age. He just knows he is going to face eternal darnation, so he fights the suicidal urge and drives home to his sad and broken down house, accepting the darnation he has here on Earth instead.
