*yakety sax plays in the distance*

1. Palestinian authorities claim hospital was bombed, 500+ dead

2. Israel claims hamas and/or Islamic jihad did bombed the hospital and posts then removes fake video proof

3. Footage shows the hospital wasn't even bombed to begin with

What will happen next? :taysilly:

I really need to. It was amazing because it was a microcosm of what we see happening now, just at much smaller scales because 1. No one cares about Syria 2. They were both terrible at actually fighting. Yet most of the war happened live on twitter. You actually had tards arguing about which specific building was taken by who, posting from said buildings to prove the other side wrong... The Syrian army was accused of barrel bombing 6 out of every 5 hospital in Syria and the rebels were apparently lying about every single civilian death. Sure, that happens in every war but it was the first war that I would consider "terminally online"

I'll try to write something next time when I'm on a Vyvanse binge lol.

It wouldn't even be that hard since I'm pretty sure /r/syriancivilwar and /r/syriancirclejerkwar are still alive.

Please :marseybegging:

Didn't the western regulars used to get unhealthily attached to one of the dozens of fringe militia groups and get into the kinds of fights you mentioned despite having never stepped foot in the middle east?

Yes!! You had Jakes in Ohio not only siding religiously with X side, but some of them had actually genuinely insane knowledge of Syria just by sheer autism. They would actually know that Al Sneedy's yellow brigade of martyrs held X street in y block in Aleppo and know exactly which streets in Al Bab were still holding against Isis. Even I know Syrian geography more than my home country's.

Some westerners really got into the sectarian conflict to the point of hating the Alawites or the Sunnis more than the people actually fighting on the ground

There was that dude who was in Germany but was completely buck broken by jihadis. He would literally simp for them at any turn, and made an entire career around subtweeting jihadis.

It was sad when most rebels merged into large rebel groups since it made the entire war less spicy.

That's genuinely hilarious. You have to do a write-up.
