if it were just about having principles then queers would merely support palestine as private citizens rather than announcing themselves as "queers for palestine". that latter part IS about getting something in return, albeit not from palestinians themselves, but from other segments of the leftoid coalition. they need to make sure they aren't left out, it's about mindshare and clout.
