So all I'm getting out of this is that they claim the rocket was completely destroyed by Iron Dome. Which is unconvincing since presumably it doesn't always work perfectly.

Oh and they said the Israelis were bombing the area a few minutes earlier. Which would be significant as it would prove the IDF lied.

Both sides are really not doing a great job of convincing me.

I thought the Iron Dome didn't intercept that early? Especially for a longer range rocket.

Yeah, Iron Dome generally can't intercept rockets when they're still in Gazan airspace. Israel is promising to deploy its new Iron Beam system, though, which allegedly can do hostile airspace intercepts. So we can look forward to many Palestinian rockets falling on their own heads.

Yeah it would be an amazing coincidence if an Israeli bomb landed within 5 seconds of the rocket going out of control. But then everyone's scenarios involve amazing coincidences.
