It's close quarters urban warfare against plain clothes combatants. Conscripts are going to be about as on-edge as you could imagine.

Because there's been less civilian casualties in 2 years of war in Ukraine than in 2 months in Gaza. Also, what's this cope that the Russians have taken "less flak" for their crimes and frick ups? Are we forgetting the enormous regime of sanctions and Putin himself being branded a war criminal by the ICC?

The only difference is that Israel wants to genocide Palestinians and take their land. This evident in rethoric that describes Palestinians as Amalek, human animals, cockroaches etc with government officials blaming all Palestinians for the atrocities of Oct. 7th and suggesting Israel levels Gaza, turns it into a city of tents, turn it into a parking lot or even fricking nuke it, which then provides justification for the collective punishment and ethnic cleansing campaign that is happening right now. Where 2.2 million people are systematically deprived of food, water, electricity, fuel and access to medical goods. This then also boils over to the West Bank, and even East Jerusalem, where Israel arms the illegal settlers with rifles which they then use to hunt down innocent Palestinians in their own land with full protection from the IDF.

There's a reason why thousands upon thousands of genocide scholars, historians and humans right NGOs, the UN and several countries are all ringing the alarm that what is happening in Gaza constitutes genocide. That what is usually the hardest part to prove, intent, is so blatant and upfront in this situation that there's an actual legal case to be made.

The hostages were shirtless, waving a white flag and shouting "rescue us" in Hebrew. This shit is indefensible and a clear sign that the IDF is actively gunning down anything that moves, civilian or not.

1 instance on record of skittish soldiers committing friendly fire or the killing of civilians and in the only case so far there's an officer calling a ceasefire order. Yeah you're going to need more evidence than this to claim they are actively seeking to shoot at anything that moves.

It's not the first instance and it's also, unfortunately, not exclusive to Gaza.

there's plenty of instances where IDF soldiers are a bunch of trigger happy psychopaths or providing cover and protection for trigger happy, illegal settler psychopaths. There's also plenty of situations where the IDF actively covers up these crimes, most notably the intentional killing of journ*lists like Shireen Abu Akleh last year or the dozens of journ*lists killed in this war like Issa Abdallah. Not to mention the intentional killings of medics, children, elders and cripples in the past.

But yes, some IDF troops will shoot innocent civilians because they want to kill arabs. This is not IDF policy obviously but not enough is done to fight it.

It really is heartbreaking that people only speak up now that Israeli citizens died because of this unprofessionalism.

However. This is not the case with bombing because:

A) Pilots don't choose what to bomb in the way foot soldiers choose who to shoot.

B) Pilots are generally higher-class, more moral, people.
