I've left Islam after being raised in an Islamic culture. I memorised portion of the quran, prayed regularly and fasted. In my own family I have aunts and uncles who support female genital mutilation and who have done it to their own daughters.

Iwas also raised in Europe. I greatly value democracy. I value and support freedom of speech, the right to protest peaceful and the right to love.

This puts me in a unique position of understanding both worlds.

To answer your question, Islam is needs to be reformed. It needs a New Testament. Islamic laws are incompatible with the 21st century. It's suspended in time. The good news is the Internet is reeking havoc in Islamic societies. People are leaving the religion or stop practicing it.

Absolute state of Diasporoids

My man, you can't just say “they need a new testament” that's like heresy on top of apostasy. Especially since the Quran says it is the final revelation to man.

I also dispute that people are leaving religion at all and particularly Islam. There may be more

people “shirking” but they're still Muslims, if for cultural pride more than anything else

There are actual multiple qarans. Also Islam has changed: it's gotten worse. Most muslims would find the modern jihadi intolerable and wipe out themand their whole family.
