The solution is a ceasefire, a message being sent exclusively to people who have no say in a ceasefire and no way to make it happen.
Demanding a ceasefire, even as the US and the UN, doesn't do anything. You need both sides to agree, for one. Then what do you do one when of them says no, or breaks it? Demand louder? This is coming from people who wouldn't want to sanction or attack the side most likely to break any ceasefire agreements anyway.
