The comparisons to Vietnam or the taliban aren't really accurate, both of those forces had a safe zone to retreat to after they got their noses broken, Hamas really only has Rafah left as a stronghold. No border nations are going to let them come and go because of their history, that's why rafah is such a big deal

Not really, the only way to actually stop an insurgency is genocide. Hamas doesn't need a stronghold, they just need to continue existing by blending in with civilians that would make israel look bad if they bombed them.

How was isis taken apart? There was no genocide, every strong point was attacked and the insurgents had no where to retreat to, no where to stockpile weapons ect. An armed group does indeed need logistics, no matter how small the group is

Isis is still an active terrorist group. The reason they arent as prominent anymore is because they hitched their ideology to essentially world domination of islamic fundamentalism via their group. When it was clear their goal would not happen they failed.
The taliban is a closer approximation to hamas than isis as their only real goal was to continue existing and out last the invasion. The only thing hamas needs to do is not be destroyed to win. Isis actually needed to achieve military goals.

The modern versions of ISIS (there's several calling themselves that) are basically completely different groups from the original ISIS. The original just had every leader bombed until they fell apart.

Once again, the goals of isis and hamas are radically different so they arent really comparable. Do you think any of the original leaders of the taliban are the same people who run it today? Did the US simply not bomb enough of their leaders?

Neither the Soviets nor the US have an existential threat of artillery from the Taliban hitting their core territories though.

Isis didnt really exist as the way amerikkkans thought. Isis was for establishing a new Islamic caliphate which a ton of muslims support yet its leadership was incredibly fractured to start with.
