Israel massively eased border restrictions, granted thousands of work permits to Palestinians allowing them to travel freely, provided aid and generalloy tried to normalise relations with Hamas - which are officially Gaza's administrators. It's really not fricking hard to understand why Israel might try to do this considering it's basically everything Palestinoid r-slurs complain about as sources of their oppression (and justification for shooting thousands of rockets).
