It's called aniconism, and it's prevalent in suuuuper primitive societies. Like, jungle people.

And then, unrelated, it's something Muslims espouse.

Meanwhile, Jews and Christians call themselves Jews and Christians; but when most of them read their Bible, they say, Meh, it's probably just wrong about this thing I disagree with or don't like or don't wanna do. Bury a plate that's touched meat AND milk? Love my neighbor? Gaaaayyyyyyy

I guess point to based chad r-slur prescriptivist legalistic Muslims.

Legalism is what Jesus :marseyitisfinished: espoused against repeatedly (one of his main issues with the Pharisees)

John 8:3-11

The scribes and the Pharisees *brought a woman :marseypooner: caught :marseyflirt: in adultery, and having set her in the center of the court, they *said to Him, "Teacher, this woman :marseyarthoe: has been caught :marseyflirt: in adultery, in the very act. Now in the Law Moses commanded us to stone :marseyrock: such women; what then do You say?" They were saying this, testing Him, so that they might have grounds :marseygrouns: for accusing Him. But Jesus :marseyimmaculate: stooped down and with His finger :marseycrazy: wrote on the ground. But when they persisted in asking Him, He straightened up, and said to them, "He who is without sin among :marseyzombiewolfamogus: you, let him be the first :marseywinner: to throw :marseypuke: a stone :marseyrock: at her." Again He stooped down and wrote on the ground. When they heard :marseyjacksparrow: it, they began :marseyladybugitsover: to go out one by one, beginning with the older ones, and He was left alone, and the woman, where :marseydrama: she was, in the center of the court. Straightening up, Jesus :marseymothermary: said to her, "Woman, where :marseydrama: are they? Did no one condemn you?" She said, "No one, Lord." And Jesus :marseyitisfinished: said, "I do not condemn you, either. Go. From now on sin no more."

John 8:3-11

The scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman taken in adultery. Having set her in the midst, they told him, "Teacher, we found this woman in adultery, in the very act. Now in our law, Moses commanded us to stone such. What then do you say about her?" They said this testing him, that they might have something to accuse him of. But Jesus stooped down, and wrote on the ground with his finger. But when they continued asking him, he looked up and said to them, "He who is without sin among you, let him throw the first stone at her." Again he stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground. They, when they heard it, being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning from the oldest, even to the last. Jesus was left alone with the woman where she was, in the middle. Jesus, standing up, saw her and said, "Woman, where are your accusers? Did no one condemn you?" She said, "No one, Lord." Jesus said, "Neither do I condemn you. Go your way. From now on, sin no more."

Bury a plate that's touched meat AND milk?

Jews literally do follow the meat and milk rule, much of kosher observance revolves around it.
