350 years ago, mercantilism was the dominant economic policy of the most powerful nations in the world. 350 years ago, steamboats and locomotives hadn't been invented, never mind all the industrial and technological marvels that came after. 350 years ago, the United States of America, the nation with far and away the largest economy in the world today, didn't even exist. The idea that anyone can predict anything about any nation's economy that far out is beyond absurd. Which is par for the course for The Grauniad. :marseyretard3:
