All right, everything is very funny and exciting now, so the gist of it. Romania was never a democracy, we've been controlled by our secret services during communism and we're still controlled by them after the revolution. Neither the politicians nor the voters decide anything here. Also, we have three main political factions - the main parties who ruled ever since we got out of communism and are considered the mouthpieces of the secret services, the woke pro-EU side and the new far right side. During the first part of our presidential elections (we vote for president two times) this guy Georgescu came out of nowhere on the first place. He never campaigned in the media, lots of people never even heard of him before, and he spent most of his time making tiktok videos. When people started to check who the frick this guy is, it was discovered that he supports Romania's nazi regime, supports Russia and wants to pull Romania out of EU and NATO (alongside believing in all sorts of new age bullshit and conspiracy theories). Everyone accused Russia of messing with our elections and started to complain about our secret services dropping the ball hard. But they never responded or acknowledged this dude in any way. So they were too incompetent to protect the country from a russian attack and now they are too embarrassed to admit it right?

Now things are getting weird. It turn out Georgescu was a member of the communist secret services, might have been a member of the KGB too, has been a member of UN (but nobody knows who gave him that position in the first place), has been a freemason, and has been arrested for his support of nazism in the past but his trial was mysteriously cancelled for no reason. So it's safe to say that the secret services know who this guy is.

Then things got even weirder. Another politician, who got like 1% of the votes in the first presidential elections and has no chances of actually winning the election, made a complaint that the votes weren't counted properly because three voting places gave some votes to the pro-EU candidate. Our constitutional court, which has nothing to do with the elections, ordered ALL the votes to be counted yet again, behind closed doors and with no cameras and supervisors. We're still waiting for the recount results and there are rumours that the court will order everyone to vote once again and might potentially even kick some candidates out of the race. The idea is to influence which candidates can enter in the final voting stage. Rumours started that RFK and Tucker Carlson will visit Romania to show support for Georgescu, and one guy even showed live an official letter from America's embassy signed by Trump confirming this, but no actual confirmation came from those two. Now one of Trump's campaign managers hints at doing the same thing but without directly saying it. Georgescu, a hardcore nazi supporter also apparently spoke with Israel's diplomat and promised him that he'll move our embassy to Jerusalem, refuse to arrest Bibi if he visits and will outlaw antisemitism.
