At the End of this, Russia will get the concessions they wanted from the start as well as territory. Several countries are now more seriously considering alternatives to the dollar. The west will get a fractured Ukraine and weak Europe and not much else. Some have nicely lined their pockets during all this though I'm sure.

Russia has been massively embarrassed (day 1500 of 3 day op) and syria probably fell apart because of their weakness being exposed.

Russia pre Ukraine was respected as almost US equal, not struggling with stuff like this. Ukraine was meant to fall straight away.

For the most part their loss is the wests gain, Russia has fricked it's economy and demographics pretty needlessly.

Also the entire thing has scared Europe into actually arming themselves, Russia did a way better job than Trump in making them start meeting NATO contributions
