Malay (as in the ethnic race) food is pretty dope if you can handle the chilli but fattening since they love to deep fry their ingredients, for example this is nasi lemak which is a popular malay breakfast staple
As for Malaysian food we share a lot of similar dishes and it's a preference thing I guess, maybe this eatery in Malaysia's very good at making this dish and vice versa, the "our food is better" is frankly a meme we use to banter IMO. Malaysia's less stringent when it comes to food safety so you'll be able to find things like pig blood curd over there and I'm pretty sure I saw bat soup (lol) when I was at their capital city several years ago

Singaporeans flocking there for cheap groceries and petrol and shit, there are signs near the border to remind us that we will be fined if we cross the border with the fuel levels in our vehicles below 3/4 lol
I really don't think our 2 countries hate hate each other and most of it's really just the neighbour countries type of banter found around the world
