Classic ahjumma move. If you want to get a middle aged Korean woman's heart, give her your hoarded plastic bag supply.
Seriously tho I resent the idea that I'm so incapable of housekeeping that I need the government to force me to do it properly. And as the world's #1 expert on being trans-asian, I take all of Singapore's laws very personally.

Meh it's a bit of a pain to remember to grab my reusable bags from my car but Aldi's been very effective at getting me to actually use them. Force > people's goodwill.
We got cucked like that a few years ago. Nowadays we have to eat our takeaway food with those awful wooden utensils and paper straws which melt after 2 minutes.
some places have straws that feel exactly like plastic but the wrapper says "biodegradable". idk if it's real or if they found a loophole to frick with the government.
plastic bags have been $0.07/ea here for a while. I always just bring my own larger bags (although usually it's just a backpack to make it easier to carry) so I basically never pay the tax, tho.
Yeah plenty of people here bitched about it when it was introduced but tbh I've probably paid the 7c fee less than a dozen times in several years. I never really took the store bags before tbh, my own bags are far larger, sturdier, and easier to carry.
Although there's lots of self-checkout lanes these days and I'd bet people just use the bags and select "0 bags". Not like the scale is sensitive enough to tell when you take a plastic bag.

Everytime time because frick em and frick government for its imposed fee. The good plastic bags cost less than a penny each, while the shitty recycled plastic bags are overpriced (and wasteful environmental nonsense).

This is what surprises me. Given the car limitations of Singapore, I would have thought most people were already using reusable bags. When I lived in an apt complex and had to carry my groceries from the parking lot up 2 flights of stairs, first thing I did was switch to reusables since they're more trustworthy and comnfortable.

Lol, I thought I'd miscounted. But I suppose I've only ever had to buy eggs carton in 2 countries (native shithole and USA) so it didn't occur to me that other countries might be selling them in different numbers. Singaporeans are so fu...Wait...egg prices

I literally for the life of me don't understand why people find breasts to be fun to look at, they genuinely grosses me out whenever i see a picture of one. I weirdly wish I was as horny for them as other dudes because I feel like I'm missing out on a key feeling in my life. Boobs are hyped up to be the gods ruling this world, the item that wars seem to be fought for, but I don't seem to be able to understand their true power. It's a curse.
I pray that one day, the lord himself will bless me with the ability to go AOOGA and c*m at the speed of light when faced with some fatmilkers, but for now, I'm extremely indifferent and a little grossed out.

We've the same problem here in Burlington. Nowadays I just drive the schizojeep right through the store so there's no need to buy plastic bags!

I'm surprised people would steal bags over there. Don't you get the death penalty for petty theft in singapore?

it's a new initiative, everyone's used to taking plastic bags and reusing it as garbage bags

They did this (charging for plastic bags) in India. Stores moved to light fabric bags, some even charge for them.
I just bring my own canvas tote now. It's easier to wash and there's less plastic crap everywhere.

A lot of stores charge for bags.
or they make the bags so garbage you have to just buy the totes to reuse.
