It's pretty good. Hawker centre food delicious, especially Lor Mee. I have no idea wtf any of the stuff I'm eating is, but it's all delicious. I thought Singapore was meant to be expensive but so far it's very cheap - transport, food, attraction tickets, all very affordable. (I'm staying with a friend so I don't have to worry about rent)
I finished reading Orlando in Suntec mall while anime electro music was blaring and almost deafening me, which I think is what Virginia Woolf intended probably.
Gardens By The Bay are lovely, 35mm film development is cheap, it's a nice place.

yep food and transport is pretty darn cheap here
it's things like property prices and vehicle prices that are exorbitant here but you're staying with a friend so that helps
if you're able to visit the hawker centres outside the city centre you'll find even cheaper and good food
