I got some good suggestions yesterday, did a bit more research and made a few changes.
I wasn't really paying attention and didn't know that the non-X 7000 series just came out like a month ago and tbh the 7900 looks so much better than the 7900x I was originally going to use. Significantly lower power draw, runs significantly cooler, actually comes with a cooler, not that much worse performance, and if I really want to I can just up the power draw and get performance darn near a 7900x anyway.
ty @cyberdick for the info about RAM speed and suggesting a better SSD
Yes I will use the 2TB in the SSD. I would get a bigger one if the prices didn't skyrocket past 2TB.
Yes I know full tower is a meme, no I don't care. I have the space, I don't care what it looks like, my PC never moves, it makes the build and cable management so much easier, and it's future proof because who knows how monstrous video cards will be in five years if I want to upgrade. This one is more expensive than I was looking for but I don't really like the g*mer aesthetic that cheaper ones have and the USB, headphone jack, etc placement is very convenient for where my PC is located relative to me. I didn't even want the side cutout but the options for a full tower without a side cutout are pretty barren and at least this one is dark.
ty to everyone who pointed out that 1000W was overkill, 850W is still probably overkill (especially after switching to a 7900 from a 7900x) but 750W is only like $10 cheaper so why not have the extra overhead tbh.
The video card is blank because I have no fricking idea what to do there. Suggestions from yesterday's thread were all over the place, everything from "just buy an A750 and wait lol" to "just buy a 4070Ti it's only $800 lol." If I go with this build I'm just going to pull the 1070 from my current PC and wait like six months to see what happens.
Overall it's a bit overkill but that's kind of what I'm going for. I checked on when I built my current PC and it was almost seven years ago. It still has a bit of life in it and that's what I want from a new one too, something that will last me 6+ years with the option to upgrade it down the line if I want to.

They're probably zoomies who light up their tower with obnoxious LEDs and put it on the table.
My pc is ugly and functional. I put it under the desk where it belongs.

Cable management is nicer with a full tower and there is usually better airflow.

Full tower just takes of too much floor space. I swapped mine out for a mid and I'm content. Oh no I can't have the cd reader that I literally never used in 6 years or 6 hdd's.

I went with an ITX build for my PC and honestly I'm just gonna do mini-ATX next time. Cable management got tricky and and it took a while to make everything fit, not to mention the ITX motherboard was unreasonably expensive.
Full tower is kind of unnecessary though.

You should look for some deals, I built a similar pc a couple months ago and I got it for cheaper than that and it included a video card. Check slickdeals.net and if you have a Microcenter near you, go there.

Yeah I always check Microcenter before buying anything. Like for this one I just checked and I can save $50 on the CPU+mobo+RAM if I get it from Microcenter.

From Microcenter I got a 7900x for $430, free 32GB DDR5-6000 RAM, and an open boxed Gigabyte b650 mobo for $130. Then got an opened box case for ~$80 and a refurbished Corsair watercooler for $60 off slickdeals.
All the open box/refurbished stuff I couldn't even tell it wasn't brand new, everything worked perfectly.

Basically the same as mine. I'd get a radeon card tbh unless nvidia stops being gay.
Do not buy a 4070 or 4080.

They've always been gay and will never cease to be. That being said, radeon driver support is pretty awful and they're next to useless for a lot of non-gaming related stuff like if you want to get into AI image gen. Ultimately a trade off where nvidia does have the lead on features, driver UI, and support at a higher premium.

Don't buy an Asus B650, they really dropped the ball this generation.
If you are a g*mer, you want a 3d model Ryzen, whether that be the new gen to release or the 50003d series for cheap. The 3d models have insane gaming perf, regular is only better if you are doing tons of cpu heavy non-gaming tasks.
Also might a suggest this case? https://www.newegg.com/black-lian-li-o11-dynamic-e-atx-full-tower-case/p/2AM-000Z-00049 it has much better airflow and uses a more modern case design, don't worry, the RGB can be turned off.

40xx cards are a meme, unless you want to frick with AI or your current one is dead. Intel's shit is going to be shit with no support until intel pulls the plug in 4 years. I think AMD GPU sucks.
If you want to do VR I'd get a new gpu like a 3060/2070 ballpark. Otherwise if you aren't going to do VR or AI shit, just stick with yours until you see a good sale.
Tower: I love full towers because cooling with lots of expensive fans keeps it cooler and quieter. I do like that they are finally putting more HDD and SDD slots into cases. There was this weird period of "Lol just get an SSD and 1 HDD what else do you need nerd". Only dislike is I hate glass panels, I actually prefer Lexan panels.
Ram is good, CPU is good, AFAIK the stock cooler on AMD is still decent unless fan noise pisses you off or you are overclocking(lol).
Storage: 2TB for boot drive is good. Go buy a HDD for general storage. I only put games that really need the SSD on it, otherwise they go onto a HDD.
Other than that Go buy a nice Uninterruptable Power Supply.

Get the 7900x and a good air cooler (NH-D15, Dark Rock Pro 4, whatever), though tbh it's a lot of CPU so get a 7600x or whatever would be a better idea? idk stock coolers are pretty bad (very noisy and subpar cooling) but Ryzen ones are at least usable. A good large air cooler will last pretty much forever so $70-100 now is really not a lot for the ability to passively EXTRACT HEAT (please fix word filter nonsense) 70% of the time
your RAM is a good choice, src
SFF can be a pain in the butt but I think 20L cases can be be a good blend between small size and not being impossible to work in, I like it since it provides more flexible placement and visitors don't think I'm a massive dork, though ig if you have a spot you know a E-ATX will fit it doesn't really matter. I have a Core 500 tho I've heard good things about the NR200s but I have no personal experience

Ryzen 5000 series and ddr4 are often on huge discounts these days as am4 platform is dead. Honestly, I would just save the money and get that. From my limited understanding 7000 series has been a dud for the value to performance. With the saved money you can put it towards a new build in 5 years

cpu is a bit overpowered but depending on what you want you might need some extra RAM instead. Id either go with more ram or an i7.
Edit: there really is nothing wrong with the build tho it will run everything extremely well with a 3060 or higher
