Seems like a classic current for this kind of bay area techno libertarian neurodivergent. Does anyone remember that early (i think late 80s early 90s?) web novel with a female protagonist who basically fights to destroy some far future society and basically ends humanity save for herself and the love interest, who go on to live in primitive society and their kids repopulate the earth?

That sounds like a very garbled description of "The End of Eternity" by Isaac Asimov. Or maybe something inspired by it? You couldn't have web novels back then for the lack of the webs.

Btw a rewrite of it by Charlie Stross https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palimpsest_(novella) is very very good!

The web existed back then. It might have been from later in the 90s but it definitely wasn't a published book.
