Congrats for making this another IITJEE. Sad.

The thing is good companies will follow good guidelines. They will have good architecture discussions, you will hear terms like orchestrator thrown at you every other day.

In startup the agenda is to make things. It will be like do things and make things chahe kaise v.

Having experience in both is good.

But having theese experience in service based is that possible? Most of the folks don't want to be getting into the software engineering's awesomeness. They don't want to know about the computer Science behind it.

To know all that it's required to be around people who have that kind of motivation.

Also it's learning the core principles of engineering. What's there with IIT JEE. It ain't just DSA bruh. All the things which I said are the heart of Engineering. You gotta love it if you're in this sub. [-49]

Shut up bro it's not another competitive exam it's a company to work in. There are thousands of other companies better than fang stop watching yt.

That's the problem where you don't read it correctly & spread gyaan. Said the word "prod based" too. Stop being unfocused and unattentive. [-29]

Getting into faang now a days looks like an achievement and everybody is in a rat race for that, people don't think what they can achieve or learn from their it career rather than getting into faang , after almost 10years it career atleast I know better WLB and good pay to sustain you and your family along with some savings is what most of us carve for, I have the constant pressure inside faang effects mental health for many people.

Also, be ready to get laid off randomly from these companies.

Also, be ready to die randomly from some accident.

Yes I will be ready tho. Such is life. [-31]

Maturity is when you realise FAANG is the worst for work life and stability. There are so many good options out there.

OP has no sense of how the real world works and derives his understanding of the world from YouTube videos and day dreams.

Your post lacks common sense. You are not asking real questions or advice. You just want us to reinforce your expectations which are childish and immature. Or you want us to discourage you and use that as fuel to achieve your goals.

Either way, you are gonna lose.

Get a job, do it, learn some common sense and then ask us what your problems are.

Baby that was a statement that I will do. So unfocused you are. Nd for reference my source of information are something like "7yrs exp London guy product consultant, previously worked with practo, many more. Just an example. Many of the sources are like this." [-4]

Wtf even is FAANG and why do currycels worship it so much? :marseyconfused: I'm a techcel, but a non-curry in the US South. :marseysoutherner: None of my coworkers at any jobs i've held have ever mentioned FAANG once. Is it because we do actual work instead of caring about certifications?

big 5 in tech that the bright eyed ITcels put on a pedestal. Having worked at one its not worth the hype but does look good on the CV

Wouldn’t know i was an Amazoncel myself. Biggest issue with the company was projects were a nightmare because every single aspect needed to be individually approved by seemingly every department in existence.

I had a good team but the structure of the departments all acting like women and being catty was not fun.

I literally wasted 2 entire workdays because 2 different department managers were being extra catty and were fighting over the same room for some project, which only ended when a third foid came in and dealt with the situation and she was extra catty because she had to stop using the google gym to come deal with it in person. Insane amount of middle managers at Google. I hope they all get fired by the Big Jeet Upstairs.

Its an acronym for a bunch of decent performing tech stocks, used as a shorthand for "wow! You worked as a helpdesk agent at microsoft?? You must be really smart!" (Note somehow microsoft counts even though they couldn't fit it into the acronym.)

Lyft is on the verge of dying.

Uber at least had a neat perk of free uber rides to the office. Imagine ubering to Uber HQ and the uber slave sweating :marseyworried: if they were even mildly shitty to you.

Its brand name company that their parents can brag about to people back home.

I've worked at 2 FAANGs, and no one gives a shit except old relatives.

Huh, I wonder why people go on and on about wanting to go to MIT and Harvard when UT Austin and Tulane are just as good. :marseysmoothbrain:

comparison can't thief your joy if you're never exposed to the folks whose parents started who started 10 companies before age 15 at stanford or whatever

The idea of prestige not mattering is so foreign to me, man. But I’ve read the articles and know it’s true for STEM.

I went to the #1 school for my field of economics and dropped out because I hate academia at the end of the day, and while surrounded for trust fund kids, I was arguing about hours with my PI so I could afford rent. Despite only having a fraction of a graduate degree, I’m constantly scouted for jobs I’m not qualified for that pay well into six figures.

I know $130k ain’t much compared to techcels, but I’d be making half of that if I wasn’t putting a household name university on my resume since I’m effectively skill-less.

I think for most people, there’s more like a threshold of “prestigious enough” for your resume to be given good consideration at the average white collar workplace. And then it matters less as you get further away from your time in college

I wouldn’t necessarily advocate for someone to go to Texas State, but UNC undergrad isn’t going to close any doors for someone who wants to go to a T10 grad school after
