Hmm, this seems like a legal grey area, I don't think this is cut and dry either way as the supreme court hasn't ruled on this type of scenario yet.

This guy seems to think them charging for this makes any difference, it doesn't. Copyright infringement is copyright infringement, so if this is illegal, so is most of Bard and ChatGPT.

AI usage of copyrighted information for training is clearly not copyright infringement regardless of how many artists sneed about it, producing a copy of a copyrighted work with an AI model is copyright infringement

Anyone who disagrees is clearly mentally disabled, this is the correct ruling, if the supreme court rules otherwise they'll basically be throwing out all precedent while also kneecapping the US tech industry and I will be moving to a country that is less rslurred
