I think the main takeaway is that it's actually easy to make and actually working. In addition to making things you would thing of as “alien technology” possible as well it will make everything electronic more efficient. Electronics that need to be precise can be much more precise and consistent as well. It could possibly be the biggest breakthrough since the transistor
