A defining, and overtly stated, characteristic of the original iPhone :marseyappicon: is that the average :marseyaveragetotally: sized hand can reach the upper left corner with the thumb. Steve :marseybardfinn: Jobs was hardline about "the phone :marseygossiplaugh: that does everything" being limited to that screen :marseybsod: size because of his design/form credo.

Personally I have always enjoyed the ability to sideload apps onto any smartphone I've ever had. I still consider :marseygigathonk: the Palm Treo to be superior :marseyspongebobsmug: to the latest generation :marseyreactor: iPhone :marseyappicon: simply because of this.

I've on my 4th android :marseyappicon: device and consider :marseygigathonk: any iPhone :marseyappicon: my work gave me to be an overpriced paperweight due to how closed its features are.

That's interesting.

While I do still view my phone as a computer I think it's still a fantastic device for things I want out of a smartphone.

Once the EU forces sideloading we may get best of both worlds.

My Moto Droid X was ahead of its time. It had a Micro :marseydicklet: HDMI output alongside its charger. I would :marseywould: kill for all phones to have that.

Not to be a dongle bro but you should be able to just shove a USB-C to HDMI adapter into your phone.

Why you're connecting your phone to a TV...you do you

1. Mobile pirating/media device. Run Popcorn :marseygossip: Time from your phone :marseyphonecall: directly to the TV.

2. Mobile console. I have tons of Emulators and a wireless joystick. I've used a dongle before :marseyskellington: to do this, but the charging option on it doesn't keep pace with battery :marseysmokealarmbeep: consumption.

That gives me an idea of a device that's like the Razer Kishi but also has an HDMI out :marseyhmm:

Kind of like the most jank switch ever.

I bought a docking station :marseygreytide: for my Deck. I use it almost entirely for console :marseyangrygamer: emulation these days because I don't have many non-pirated PC games. Once I actually :marseyakshually: start buying stuff on Steam :marseyfreeman: I'll get it set up with my wireless m/kb to a TV and rock out on a huge screen.

I just realized that Zoomers think :marseynoooticer: it's weird :marseyidk: for Boomers and Xoomers to pirate :marseyzeldatetra: so much because they grew up with their parents and grandparents buying them Steam :marseyfreeman: gift cards :marseygambling:
