It's genuinely amazing to me the amount of people who don't use Adblock or stuff like Newpipe or Revanced. I thought it was just a boomer and little kid thing, but nah. It seems the average person either puts up with ads or just cucks and buys Premium.

i have legitimately made ppl pissy for saying i refuse to deal with yt ads and then offering to set up an adblocker for them on their device. some have said theyd rather pay for it, some said they want their hekkin favorite yters to make money off their ad views, and some said the ads are sometimes interesting and they dont want to get rid of all of them

idk i think its fkn annoying when your friend is like 'you gotta see this video' and then youre both standing there in silence watching 30 seconds of dawn dish soap poured on ducklings waiting for the vid to start

What's funny is YouTubers will say that even $1 of donations makes more than a lifetime of ads. So people I know are just using adblockers and donating directly.

I kinda get why tech companies make the decisions they do. The average internet user isn't as savvy as they were 2 decades ago when it was still mostly tech literate/semi-literate people and social media wasn't really a thing yet. But now, you can treat a lot of them like their chattel. They'll barely resist while you keep ruining their user experience and force them to pay for previously free features.

we use YouTube at work and it always blows my mind when people fire up a video and we have to wait 5 seconds to skip some r-slurred ad. these are allegedly tech savvy people too

Is there any way to put an adblocker on a TV app? I watch YouTube on my TV all the time and I still have to deal with ads on there :/
