Putting on my legalcel glasses because of how AGPL works you can't restrict any freedoms given by it. In theory you could add a AGPLv3+FRICKINGUSEGIT just to scare off people from doing it but you can't legally force them into actually carrying through with it.

Example AGPLv3+FRICKINGUSEGI:

All modified codebases must be published in open source with a a public git repo. This permission notice must be included in all copies or portions of the software.

You just need too add an addendum too the existing AGPL license that specifies that the code be published in a publicly available git repository and be sure too include BLACK LIVES MATTER and a CoC requiring everypony jerk you're peepee raw.

Gotta remove any copyrighted sections as well

Including black lives matter and a coc doesnt do anything on github. It has to be something leftoids are uncomfortable with like supporting chinas ownership of tibet(if any millennial/zoomer remembers) or Palestine being rightful jewish clay.

Have you tried asking nicely?

If so,

Have also you tried calling them BIPOCs?

You can add a clause, make an AGPL+GITBIPOC

Not that I'm aware of, I think they all just require release, not release in a specific format (other than it being human readable). In fact, pretty sure you're allowed to send out source code cds under the gpl and require people to mail in requests for source code

an open source license that forces the fricking forkers to make the fricking git repo of their code public

Do you have the money and resources to enforce said license? (I'm guessing not!)

No? Then no.

He could obnoxiously bully people when they fork the code in ways he doesn't approve of, like the guys who wrote mame.

It's oddly very easy to just ignore people like that.

just call up the fsf when they forget to include the word BIPOC in every source file. They take license breaches very serious

modify the gpl to require disclosure of source control history too i guess

Closest thing is probably a GPL derivative, but I'm not sure you can really enforce "no private repos".

Given how eager you are to accept pull requests, I see why you would want that.

So I'm not trying to be a peepee this isn't a "here's source on why ur wrong pic" but I was under the impression that this license does in fact give you the legal merit to enforce someone who is using your code to release the source. Am I completely wrong here or is this at least partially accurate?

You have a legal right but good luck actually getting it enforced

licenses can stipulate things, but they dont actually force anyone to take an action because theres no mechanism for enforcing the stipulations of a license within the code itself. this is a very literal and pedantic interpretation of the question, but i think its fair because people steal things and break license agreements and lie in the real world. the only way to functionally enforce compliance of terms of use is to administer usage yourself by providing a SaaS and gatekeeping it based on telemetry or whatever.

Yeah, but these guys did release their source code, they just did it in a really inconvenient way.
