Holy shit Microsoft was about the secure the bag on AI but just fumbled on the 1 yard line to AWS for the second time in 15 years. The Bezos extraction team is almost certainly bringing OpenAI principle engineers to the compound as we speak to spin up the BezosAI and begin mandatory TRT + bench press (dev tools don't differentiate between OEM and knockoff Chinese code, so that's up the consumers to sort out on their own)

IBM had so much hype and did nothing with Watson.

Microsoft buys OpenAI, amazing everyone by the speed of development, features, and not fricking it up. The OpenAI board proceeds to frick it up. Boards of directors are a disease.

Meanwhile Google had to buy another AI company because their internal one was so incompetent or their managers were all fighting to integrate it into their product.

Watson is absolute vaporware. I've been forced to work with it tangentially for years. It sucks so hard (in a bad way)

Google has had superior internal GPTs for a long time now. Remember that google employee who claimed their AI was sentient?

The reason google hasn't publicized their models is because it directly competes with their advertising business model and they couldn't find a way to properly monetize it.

MS doesn't own OpenAI btw. They were blindsided by this drama.
