Man mods his bionic arm, interfaces with synth, DJs like a madman

@MayflyACK-98 I think you might find this interesting

Don't let anyone tell you that we're living in a boring cyberpunk dystopia, because things do get very interesting every once in a while

PART 1:

PART 2:

TL;DW: A prosthetic arm has 2 independent neural sensors that trigger on contraction of specific muscles and produce signals needed to actuate the arm. By removing the 'hand' part of the arm, the wires carrying the signal can be rerouted into an amplifier circuit which maps it to a 0-10 volt range. With the addition of a proper jack and some plug-in wires, this allows for each of the two outputs to be wired to a different filter in the modular synth and use the signal as a control voltage to turn them on or off and by how much. The man says it feels very intuitive and natural to do so.

In the 2nd video the design is modified so that it fits within a new 3-d printed hand attachment that features some knobs (which he doesn't really mention but I'd guess they're used for adjusting sensitivity) and also has a pirate hook which can be used to push buttons manually.

Oh I thought this was gonna be that cool as frick engineer dude who made his own bionic hand out of bike chain and CNC'd scrap aluminum

Instead just another gay twink

Give me your money and I'll annoy people with it :space: https://i.rdrama.net/images/16965516366194396.webp

Very cool :marseyclapping:

Reminds me of the OG prosthetic DIY CHAD Ian Davis. His prosthetics differ on focusing on pure mechanical means. Looking :marseyflirt: quite metal :marseypunished: :marseywindmill:

Those Eurorack (modular synth) nerds are turbo neurodivergents. They spend thousands of dollars piecing together 50 different electronic boards to make a synth instead of buying one keyboard. Each piece is usually boutique made and costs like $500.

or if youre especially neurodivergent you can save half the money and solder kits together yourself /e/marseyplugged.webp
