Lots of seethe on Twitter. Discuss the societal implications, and what degenerate thing you're going to make when stable diffusion released their copy in a year!
Also, what will it take for Yann LeCum to admit he is wrong? We'll have AIs that simulate the future and he will still be arguing they aren't intelligent and his model (which is essentially the same thing) is better

Everyone kept bullying and making fun of the nerds on LessWrong, but maybe, just maaaybe they have a point
On a serious note though, I remember listening to a Radiolab podcast (when it was overproduced but not insufferable) where they were talking about AI tools being made by Adobe that had the capability to completely manufacture speech based on like 60 seconds of a person talking (we have already more or less achieved that on mass scale), as well as completely AI generated video (exactly like this here)
The thing that REALLY stuck out to me was the Chinx woman they were interviewing; this was supposed to be one of the foremost experts on the R&D and she was not only completely uninterested in the potential negative impact of this technology, but after some mild pushing she even became antagonistic and indignant taking offense at the mere question of if she had considered the potential propaganda applications for this technology and literally reverted to (paraphrasing), "I am a researcher, my job is to figure out if the technology is possible, not how to use it."
This type of accelerationist autism is going to "advance" humanity into a nuclear winter
