Weird shit happening to my laptop doesn't make any sense

Alright so I have a cheap laptop that I loaded debian / plasma onto.

Keyboard cover is wonky and sometimes when I hold left or right arrow it self-inserts a '4', which is fixed with turning off the num pad.

So any time I switch to another window, any time I try to upload something and the popup comes up for me to select a file, the left or up arrow is automatically pressed. Right now it's doing it with the up arrow.

You'd think "you just said your keyboard is messed up why is this shocking" well to that I say here's the weird part.

It doesn't happen randomly, it happens specifically when I change to another window, or a window is popped up like when saving or uploading a file. As soon as I press any arrow key it stops.

For example I'm on my browser now.. if I click to groomercord it will try to edit my last message (up arrow is held), and will keep scrolling up unless I press a random arrow key. When I click back to the browser where I'm writing this post, it begins to scroll up (up arrow held) and again I have to press a random arrow key to stop it.

WTF is going on? Why is me clicking another window triggering an arrow key?!!?! It won't ever happen randomly either. It will never do it again until the window is changed.

To add a weird cherry on top, if I click my terminal (Konsole) it won't scroll up my command history. It won't trigger this weird shit, but as soon as I click to another window it'll trigger the up arrow. First half of today was the left arrow, abot an hr ago it started doing the up arrow.

Pls help solve.

You filthy PC plebs wouldn't understand the overwhelming feeling brought on from being an owner of the majestic device known as Mac.

Mac is not a thing, not a device, not a person. It is nothing yet everything. I tend to use God as an analogy. Mac and God tend to go hand in hand. Both are set on improving society and bring joy to people. They fulfill wishes, bring smiles to children, and provide Faith.

Faith is what you PC plebs lack. There is no proof for God, yet the majority of people believe in him. Chances are you do. Why can't you use this same Faith to believe in Mac? Mac shares the same ideals as God. In fact, many people have begun to merge God and Mac into one, known under the name as Mac.

Mac was chosen as it is similar to Om. Buddhists will be familiar what I am referring to. The simple act of saying the word "Mac" brings comfort, relief, and joy to ones self and those listening. It is a word that means everything good and defeats all that is evil.

This evil is you. Yes, you PC plebs. Our Lord and Savior Steve Jobs died at the Cancer for your sins. Because of you, The Lord perished. But save your lamenting, for he voluntarily died for your sins. He knows there is good in you. He knows that one day, you indeed will be a Mac.

Until that day I pray for you. Yes, I pray for my enemies unlike you vile demons. I pray that Steve Jobs may forgive you and your sins. I pray that you will discover the wonders of Mac.

I pray Mac.

How cheap is the laptop? Can you replace the keyboard from AliExpress?

I can probably fix the keyboard just opening it up and finding the loose whateveritis that's loose

but I'm far more interested in why switching a window triggers an arrow key to be pressed

Are you on Xorg or Wayland? That xev suggestion would probably help.

I also generally look in dmesg as my first step for ANYTHING buggy.

Reinstall a version that uses xorg and 90% of your incomprehensible problems will disappear.

On top of that you'll have a libinput config file which is absent in wayland so you'll be able to make sure no one does stupid shit to your inputs.
