I got laid off from tech yesterday. Already had another job starting 29th and was intending to double dip. Motherlovers stole my boat dream.

It's pretty juicy TBH. Working as systems architect on relatively small companies Next Big Thing (tm). They canned me because I'm the highest paid non-exec employee left in the US and I wouldn't play nice with an EU team who is totally incompetent. EU pays about 1/5th what we earn in the US.
They think they have their bases covered because there are two people left on my team, had them both in meetings yesterday assuring them they are safe and valuable etc. Both also have new jobs in the new company and were waiting for bonuses to drop before quitting which happens next week. They were not going to double dip. No one else in the company understands what we were working on, we hadn't got far enough with formalizing designs and PoC work is mostly incomplete.
Not sure if they are going to just cut their losses or try and walk back my layoff. If they cut their losses the CTO and rest of US based team will be killed. One of my team is going to screen record his quit meeting with the CTO for me, CTO doesn't have a good poker face so I expect he will see his first ever CTO gig going up in flames less than 6 months in.
