Every office worker that insisted that their job could be done 100% remote deserves this lmao. How stupid can you be? "Please boss man please outsource me!"

This site relies on remote workers.

If a company wants to hire jeets overseas then they're gonna do it no matter where their domestic employees work

It does seem logical. 'You don't need to be in the office for your job? Then we won't need your job to be in the country.'

Very logical. "I can't manage my employees when I only see them twice a week in the office. Instead I'll never see them, they'll smile and nod at all my requests, and then I'll have to micromanage the frick out of them to get 30% of the output".

Remote work is a manager problem, not a grunt problem.

Yeah, it's not the right solution, but it's the Efficiency Expert solution. Looks good on paper.

It's more of a grift than a job. Companies will pay to snatch up :quote:talent:quote: just to deprive other companies. None of these people work more than 3 hours per day for their bloated salaries. We deserve whatever happens.

The only safe US Remote roles are ones where there is some regulatory requirement for US citizens, for sure.

In 10 years remote will have dwindled to mostly professionally licensed services like attorneys, CPAs, Professional Engineers (actual PE licensed) / etc., and people in aero+defense.

Heck even in the latter case, we use Indian developers for basic stuff and then move them off projects, so even A&D isn't 100% insulated.
