Local monero shutting down :monerogenocide:

Local monero, a fiat way to buy monero with no KYC, will be shutting down.

Best way now is to use bisq if you want to avoid centralized exchanges. Maybe some image board will come up for p2p

After almost 7 years of operation, due to a combination of internal and external factors, we have made the difficult decision to close our platform.

great job being helpful, r-slurs. Still, sad to see it go but it's monero so it's not like buying from a KYC really matters, kinda

Yeah I buy my monero from normal exchanges. Technically I buy bitcoin then swap it to monero so xmr price stays cheaper, since it appears like there's less demand on the market.

what exchange do u use? I have a kraken account, and I think they're screwing me. They charge ~10% more than what the google summary says the price should be for both btc and xmr.

I use kraken too, issue is exchange price on google is basically an average of the price from different exchanges iirc. That's why I usually buy btc since most places have it at what everybody else has usually. I use cake wallet to swap

There was that brief spike in crypto when the Ukraine invasion happened where every slav wanted some crypto on the side but it's really slowed down now.
