My wife is serious about espresso and I bought her a custom made la marzocco machine for her restaurant and she makes amazing stuff with it but if I want coffee it'll be from Dunkin' Donuts. I am incredibly neurodivergent about my teas, types of tea and temperature tho. I have a regime of tea types I consume at specific times throughout the day bc it good as shit

I just got into gongfu tea (look up jesses tea house on tiktok or youtube) and it's changed my thoughts on tea. Ive dropped like $200 on high end tea from china alongside a traditional tea set

Highly recommend

You have to be careful with traditional tea sets, lead contamination isn't as uncommon as it should be.

I honestly don't care. I drink it twice a week when I have time to really sit down and enjoy it so a little microdose of leaderino won't matter. Planning to go to anime homeland this year so I'll pick up a bone china set

Last time we were in Glorious Nippon my wife dragged us to a flea market so she could find an old cast iron tea pot. I think that and her stoneware Japanese tea pot are the ones she gets the most mileage out of.

I get all my loose teas from local tea shops. Only thing I import is ceremonial matcha for obvious reasons.

I love doing ceremonial style usucha bc of all the stuff it requires like the whisk, special spoon and chosen. It's kind of a pain in the butt and you use a lot of water but a perfect temp, perfect whisked usucha with perfectly spaced low foam is great. Love that umami of matcha, no milk or lattes or any of that shit, just the way the japs have done it forever 🍵

If you're ordering from that guy get some cha gao (or tea resin IDK which he calls it)

It's tasty and super convenient

Easy entry level way? Go buy a breville perfect tea maker. When you get up in the morning assuming you get up at 5-6 like most men do have a cup of white tea, (clean, high caffeine but not overpowering flavor for first thing in the morning), around 10 have some green tea for that real kick, black with lunch (lapsang souchong is my fav bc smoke flavor goes good with a turkey sandwich or fish), around 2pm have an oolong which is lower caffeine and has more of a milky flavor making it a good snack. I like to do a trad irish tea like barry's around 4 or so bc been doing that since I was a kid. If I'm af home I'll make a big deal of it for the missus and I with one of our good tea sets. Supper i skip tea bc that's time for alcohol. Before bed i have something herbal usually mint or rooibos bit sometimes i go grab a few pine needles from one of the white pines in the yard and make pine tea which has a nice citrus flavor. I always have pine needle tea before bed when I'm camping

Btw this is all loose leaf and measured except for the Barry's. I make my own tea bags to keep in my my rucksack for work. I used to portion out teas in a pill case type thing but it got too messy.
