New cooder language can use your GPU to run code in parallel :marseycumplosion:

https://youtube.com/watch?v=HCOQmKTFzYY

TLDR

Bend uses "interaction combinators" to parallelize your code

It's written in Rust and looks like Python

No loops. You use bend to structure data and fold to parse it recursively

You can use your GPU (or extra CPU cores) to run shiet in parallel

Nerds love big digits despite they won't do anything with those digits.

It's a bit like if you get your self a car that in 5 sec can go to 500mph. It's cool but absolutely useless in daily life

The narrator is an r-slur:

  • folds aren't equivalent to loops on inductive data structures

  • Bend isn't the first language to use FP techniques to parallelize code automatically (see: NESL)

It's a cool project, but frick this guy

Pretend I'm a giga r-slur (I am with coding, relative newb) -

How does this actually work with bend and fold???

Figure out what you like. Low level (e.g. C, C++, Rust), OOP (e.g. Java, .NET), or web dev (e.g. JavaScript, Python). There's also generative AI, security, DevOps, game dev, hardware, network/IT. It's a big ocean, so I'd go deep instead of trying to cast a wide net.

Yeah fair.

Doing some courses teaching me C#, with some JavaScript but geared towards app development. I have some database experience too.

Ultimately want to move toward R for data analysis but want to stick with C# for now. My brain isn't do good with JS app development- mind you it's an accelerated course and I'm verifiably slow.

:marseybrainlet:

Given less of a time crunch to experiment and read a bit more I think I'll get a better grasp (with a little help from Youtube via :marseytunaktunak:).

Right now, I'm a click away from using an SQL injection attack to gain access to the database of the website and gain your login credentials, as well as your IP address. I'll then proceed to leak your IP address onto my hacker forums, and then using an IP locator, I'll easily find your house and your name. With that I can access your social media accounts and proceed to ruin your life. You think I'm bluffing? You think that just because a bunch of 7 year old dipshits say they can "hack", but actually can't, that I can't either? Let me shatter that facade for you. Using my team of hackers, we can trace what websites you've visited and what keystrokes you've used, and with that, I can get into your parents' bank account. I can drain it and make you dirt poor. Have you ever felt what it's like to be homeless? Well, you're about to. I can also use cross-site scripting to redirect your web browser to one of my private sites, and download child porn onto your computer and get your parents locked up in prison. I'm your worst fricking nightmare, and I'm about to make you endure living Heck. I'm nowhere and everywhere at the same time. Have fun regretting your existence, shithead.
