Isn't this whole hypothetical attack sidelined if you can just read ASM? Sure, you can encode special values in the compiler that introduces bugs, but I can just see that you're doing shady shit in the compilation target. You might say "sure, but what if the bugged ASM is so subtly encoded that you could never find it?” BIPOC, I can barely get GHCI to do list fusion. If you can get a compiler to subtly trigger an integer overflow in order to call a buggy syscall to get own my device, then you've earned it at that point.
